I'm Spoorthi Cherivirala, a junior at Carnegie Mellon University majoring in Design and Computer Science. Throughout the years, I've been a fan of drawing – both digitally and traditionally – bothering my pet cat named Helios, playing board games, solving jigsaw puzzles, and participating in a variety of MOOCs. I aspire to apply human-centered design to societal projects globally, ranging from products to aid day-to-day activities for the disabled to VR environments promoting accessibility. Pursuing computer science to complement design in my degree, I'm interested in exploring the intersection of technology with everyday experiences.
This summer, I interned as a UX Designer at Amazon. In the past, I have interned as a UX Designer at Mediascience, a neuromarketing research company with high-profile clients including Google and TikTok, and as a data visualizer at Biomotivate, a tech startup developing a platform to aid in Substance Abuse Treatment. I have also worked as a guest artist at Texas Children's Hospital, ran my own non-profit art business, and held several art teaching and tutoring positions at galleries and schools.
