Hi, I'm Spoorthi! I’m interested in integrating human-centered
design and technology into social-good projects. My passion for math and problem-solving founded my interest to pursue computer science and front-end programming to complement design in my degree. Last summer, I interned as a UX Designer working on
seller-facing interfaces at Amazon.

Designing Human Centered Software
PROGRAMMING, MACHINE LEARNING, FRONT-END
Developed a web app where a user can train a pasta identification model using hand-drawn pictures and test the model on new drawings. Used a convolutional neural network and created our project using Python, Keras (an API from Tensorflow) and Flask with front-end Javascript, HTML, CSS.
PROGRAMMING (PYTHON)
Created a python-based word cloud generator that takes in any poem, parses it, determines a specific shape and color (including a range of hues) based on the most frequent topics discussed in the poem, and outputs a corresponding word cloud. The model can be rerun to create different clouds for the poem.

FRONT END PROGRAMMING
Portfolio Website
Developing my portfolio website with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
UX DESIGN, DATA VISUALIZATION, FRONT-END PROGRAMMING
Designed staff dashboards and user interfaces and programmed data visualizations for staff at Opioid addiction treatment centers using patient biometric data.
Researched S.U.D to develop a patient journey map for a National Institute of Drug Abuse competition, awarded $30,000 and publication.
